To make the most of it, you had to become a prompt specialist and carefully anonymize your clients' data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2026, some things have changed. We now also have agentic AI, and I think it can be a real asset for small firms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From assistant to agent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The new development is called agentic AI. The difference is simple: you no longer ask it for an answer, you assign it a complete process. It doesn't do it by magic\u2014remember, it doesn't think\u2014but it analyzes options, carries out tasks, and can add a lot of speed. You supervise. It executes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A contract-review agent, for example, can chain all of this together without your having to touch a key: analyze the contract, detect problematic or repeated clauses, look up relevant case law if it knows where to search, propose changes (like having a colleague beside you without needing to explain the matter from scratch), generate a risk report\u2014especially useful when one tends to be too optimistic\u2014and, if the workflow is automated, send the result to the client to check whether the proposal matches what they had in mind from the start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What used to take you an afternoon can now land on your desk practically finished. Your job is to review it and decide. And that is no small thing. Human oversight remains essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A small firm with a \u00abteam\u00bb of agents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who practice solo or with a lean structure don't need to expand their headcount to increase their operating capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine your firm with four agents working in parallel:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Client intake: gathers the case, classifies it, and prepares an initial file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compliance: monitors deadlines, GDPR, and regulatory obligations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contract review: performs the process you just read about.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seguimiento procesal: controla se\u00f1alamientos, vencimientos y actuaciones, y mantiene actualizada la agenda.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>No es ciencia ficci\u00f3n ni hace falta ser ingeniero para disponer de una estructura as\u00ed. Se trata de configurar flujos de trabajo que ya est\u00e1n al alcance de cualquiera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tu papel cambia (y para bien)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Esto inquieta a muchas personas, as\u00ed que conviene ser claros: la IA ag\u00e9ntica no sustituye al abogado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo que cambia es el trabajo del abogado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dejas de ser quien redacta cada informe para convertirte en quien supervisa, decide y dise\u00f1a la estrategia. Es muy posible que la calidad de tus informes mejore. El criterio jur\u00eddico, la relaci\u00f3n con el cliente y la responsabilidad profesional siguen siendo tuyos. Son precisamente esos elementos los que aportan el verdadero valor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perder tiempo redactando correos electr\u00f3nicos, buscando datos de contacto porque no est\u00e1n organizados, localizando fechas o haciendo seguimientos son tareas que hoy ya pueden automatizarse eficazmente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La pregunta en 2026 no es si la IA asumir\u00e1 parte de tu trabajo operativo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La pregunta es qui\u00e9n supervisar\u00e1 a esos agentes en tu despacho.
